Reading // Currently reading "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach. Adam picked it up recently and liked it, and since he knows I'm weird and really into dark stuff, he suggested I read it, too. Did you know that at one point in my life I wanted to be an embalmer? True story. I took a class called "Death and Dying" in high school where we learned about death, funerals, the embalming process, etc. We also studied Dr. Kevorkian, read poetry and short stories about death, visited cemeteries, and had the staff at a funeral home show us the room where they embalmed bodies. For our final project, we had to write our own obituaries. It was a pretty morbid class and didn't last very long because I think parents started complaining, but I loved it. The book is interesting so far; I'm only 30 or so pages in. We'll see how it goes! I also picked up the 2nd volume of Alex & Ada today, so I'm excited to start that.

Watching // My must-watch shows on tv right now are Grey's Anatomy and The Voice. We don't have a tv, but we have a cable bundle with our internet, so I'm able to watch the most current episodes online the day after they air on tv. I started binge watching Grey's before I moved out to Seattle (when I was depressed in Wisconsin, didn't have a job, and lived with my friend who was nice enough to let me crash at her place rent-free for longer than she had probably anticipated) and it really got me pumped to get my ass in gear to move out here. All the shots of the city made my heart flutter! The Voice is a new interest of mine as of a few weeks ago. I never thought I'd like a show like that, but I guess I do. I randomly decided to watch an episode one day but then I was instantly hooked. I've been skipping episodes here and there with this current season in order to get caught up. I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm totally rooting for Jordan. If he doesn't win, I'll hate the show and refuse to watch it ever again because I mean, come on. Seriously. I also just started and then finished (in the same day) Master of None on Netflix because a friend recommended it and told me there was a sweet Plath reference in one of the episodes. That episode happens to be the very last episode, so by that point, I was already in love with the show, but that just made me love it even more. If you haven't seen it yet, get on that!

Listening // Selena Gomez put out a new album recently so I've been listening to that non-stop (sorry, Adam). I'm also a Drake fan now I guess because I love "Hotline Bling" and have been listening to some of his other songs here and there. (Amy Vachal did such a beautiful cover of that song on The Voice!) Daughter put out a few new songs, so those have been in my head a lot, as well as Adele's "Hello," obviously.

Doing // Pilates! Slowly but surely, I'm getting into it. I've fallen in love with Robin Long and her videos. I finally feel like I've found a workout program I actually enjoy. I love yoga, but sometimes I feel like it isn't enough. I've been trying to go to the gym more often too, mostly for cardio, but I'm not consistent with that, either. Hopefully pilates will help get me into the workout mindset so that eventually it won't feel like such a chore. Fingers crossed?

Loving // Adam, because he's the best. Mia, because she's cute, even though sometimes she's really annoying. Silk nog because YAY, 'tis the season. Winter boots, nude lipstick, striped sweaters, and my new-ish blonde hair because this is the first time I've been blonde since I was seven and a little change is nice sometimes! I also love Herschel bags and finally bought a damn backpack for myself so I can stop using my huge canvas Bumbershoot tote for school books. I'm also loving cuddles, Netflix, the sunshine this past weekend, planning for our upcoming trips, and the feel-good holiday vibe in the air.
