Have I really not updated my blog since January!? Wow. Time flies. But it also stands still somehow. I can’t believe tomorrow is May 1st! What’s going on?? So much has happened since January! But at the same time, not much has happened at all, haha.
If there’s any video that perfectly sums up this whole Covid-19 craziness, I think it’s this one:
Because really, who knew way back in January that this is where we’d be in March, April, and now May? Everything is so bizarre and nobody really knows when life will go back to normal. Adam and I were supposed to be boarding a plane tomorrow to head to Wisconsin for my first ever half marathon in Door County. I do still plan on running a half marathon on Saturday, though! It’ll just be a solo-self-guided-social-distancing-Bay-Area half marathon instead…
In all seriousness though, I really have nothing to complain about. Not only am I fortunate enough to be in good health, but my family and friends are, too. We have a roof over our heads, enough food to eat, and are able to stay home when so many others can’t. It’s such a scary time and my heart goes out to everyone who has been personally affected by this global pandemic. All we can do from here on out is wake up every morning and try our best to get through each day. One step at a time. One day at a time.

Since we’ve all been quarantined, I’ve definitely been spending way more time on social media. I think everyone has. I know it can be so evil sometimes, but it can also bring people together, especially in times like this.
I started a daily photo challenge for myself on my personal Instagram account about a week ago. The challenge is to simply get outside and capture something new and interesting every day. It’s a way to push myself creatively since I don’t exactly have any photography clients at the moment. Adam and I take daily walks, and each time I go out for a run, I try to take unique routes and visit areas I’ve never seen before. We’ve only been here since November, so we’re still discovering new places all the time.
Aside from that, there have also been these Instagram story templates floating around which has helped keep some of us sane. I thought they were fun, so I decided to make a few of my own. I’ve shared a handful of them on my Instagram story, and it’s been cool watching other people fill them out, too. I posted two or three of them on Pinterest as well, and they have easily become my most popular pins. That’s actually what gave me the idea to post them on my blog today. I feel like I haven’t been seeing them as much the past few days (maybe people are getting tired of them!) but I still fill them out occasionally.
So, if you’re also finding these little games to be a fun way to distract yourself from sad coronavirus-related news, please feel free to use them! I thought posting them here would be helpful. 🙂
Enjoy, stay safe, and I hope that wherever you are, you know you’re not alone. We’re all in this together. WE GOT THIS! As always, thanks for reading! xo

Have fun on your solo-self-guided half marathon! 🙂 (I hope you get the chance to also complete an organized one full of people cheering and holding up handmade signs in the near future when all of this gets better) I completed my first one this past January and now I want to run a hundred more!

Thank you, Monica! I had a great run with an awesome support crew cheering me on via a live stream my husband put together. I can’t wait to run another one, this time with other racers, haha!
