Sailing on Lake Washington

Adam's parents bought a sailboat recently, so the four of us took it out on Lake Washington a few weeks ago to try it out. We ate pastries for breakfast, dumplings for lunch and enjoyed the gorgeous Seattle weather until it was time to call it a day.

I haven't spent too much time around boats, so it's always so interesting to me to watch how they work. Understanding the wind and the currents must be a wonderful feeling... I loved watching Adam navigate the boat and help his dad with the sails and the ropes, tying complicated knots here and there like an experienced sailor. His family spent time living on a boat when he was younger, and it's pretty obvious when you watch the way they move about; it's like second nature to them. It was a really fun day and I was delightfully pink by the end. Can't wait for summer to come so we can get out on the water again!
