The USA receives some of the most tourism from around the world. In fact, studies have found that the American tourism industry is booming. Both international and domestic travel put over $1.1 trillion into the United States GDP every single year. Domestic travel is most popular, with domestically travelled Americans totalling 2.29 Billion (a 2% increase from the previous year). The figures speak volumes. There’s plenty to see and do here. But what might you want to add to your own US bucket list? Here are some suggestions to get the ball rolling.
New York City, New York

It’s the city that never sleeps. Maui, Hawaii
It’s not hard to see why so many people want to visit Hawaii. Not only is Hawaii one of the many safe places to travel in America, but it has a completely different look, feel, environment and atmosphere to many places in the US. This is because it lies beyond America’s mainland and is actually found in the tropics. What’s important to remember when travelling to Hawaii is to make sure that you are respecting locals. Often, locals will call for halts on tourism, as it is pushing many out of the islands or impacting their way of life. Respect these gaps and avoid travelling during these times. When on the islands, respect local culture and clean up after yourself.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas, though in the middle of the dessert, is a highly popular destination that you might want to add to your bucket list too. Popular for bachelor and bachelorette parties, it is home to countless casinos, entertainment venus and even drive thru wedding venues, where people are renowned for getting married by Elvis impersonators. Here, helicopter rides are popular. If you want an escape from the buzz of the strip, you can always head out to theRed Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
Chicago, Illinois
Located on Lake Michigan in Illinois, Chicago is among the largest cities in the U.S. It’s renowned for its standout skyline, decorated with world renowned skyscrapers. These include the iconic John Hancock Center, the 1,451 ft. Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower. Get an eyeful from the Chicago Observation Deck, take an architecture river tour or visit the Field Museum of Natural History.
These are just a few locations you might want to visit in America, but each will bring a smile to your face when you do visit!
