The Edgewater Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin

Hello again! It's me, I'm back, I'm here, HI!!Adam and I are now officially wedded aka hitched aka married, and we're settling back into life here in Seattle after spending the most incredible nearly three-week-long honeymoon in Greece, Italy, Switzerland, and England (many, many photos to come, obviously!).This month has been so nutso amazing, it's hard to believe all of the excitement is finally coming to an end. I feel so grateful for everything, it's hard to accurately put it into words. Getting married in your beloved home state with all of your closest friends and family members surrounding you and showering you with love all day long is an incredible feeling. Everything wedding-related went so well, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to get married. I'll talk more about the wedding at a later date; we can't wait to get our photos back!On our wedding night, we were fortunate enough to stay at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin. We checked in super late but were met with kind smiles and many congrats from the staff working at the front desk. There was even a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room; so kind! It was really nice being able to relax with each other in silence after socializing with our friends and family all day. I mean, don't get me wrong, we LOVED that, but silence after a long day is pretty nice, too. :) Unfortunately, Adam had a gnarly cold the day of our wedding (he did a great job pretending to not be sick, though!), so by the time we reached our room, he was exhausted and nearly asleep already, poor guy. It was so wonderful being able to drop our bags and sink into bed knowing the stress of the wedding was finally behind us. I soaked my blistered feet in the tub and took a deep sigh of relief - heavenly! Our room was cozy, classy, and super comfortable. Perfect in every way. In the morning, we ordered room service which was the most amazing idea because those pancakes gave me life. The view from our room helped, too...Since we checked in so late the night before, we weren't sure what kind of view we would wake up to in the morning, but wow - we were pleasantly surprised, that's for sure! I remember feeling pretty euphoric that day, peering out the window at the blue sky and sparkling water down below. Our honeymoon had officially arrived! I'm now a firm believer that everyone should take off for their honeymoon ASAP after their wedding day. I was so skeptical at first, but Adam really pushed for it and I'm so glad he did. Going from high stress to incredibly low stress is an awesome feeling, haha. 10/10 would recommend! After checking out of the hotel, we drove to Milwaukee and met up with some family members for lunch at Cafe Benelux. Our flight to London left out of Chicago at 8pm that evening, so we had just enough time to say goodbye to my parents before they dropped us off at the airport.*sigh* I daydream about the wedding all the time. It really was a wonderful day/weekend. Thanks to everyone who was a part of it, and thanks to our friends and family who traveled near and far to be there; you made our day feel extra special! Now my next project will be sorting through millions of honeymoon photos!! Stay tuned... Thanks for reading! xo

We were graciously hosted by The Edgewater Hotel during our stay in Madison. As always, all opinions are my own.
