We Moved to California!

As per usual, it has been quite some time since my last post! A lot has happened over the past month and a half... Long story short, Adam and I moved to California at the beginning of October!CaliforniaI'm no longer a Seattle resident, so I guess that means I'm no longer a Seattle blogger. I have a lot of updating to do on this old blog! Seattle was my home for 6 wonderful years, and I'm going to miss it so much, but I'm really looking forward to living in the Bay Area and exploring everything California has to offer.Over Labor Day weekend, Adam and I came to the Bay Area (before we moved here) to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We rented a Tesla and drove down the coast, starting in Santa Cruz and then working our way toward Monterey and Big Sur.TeslaTeslaSanta CruzSanta CruzSanta CruzIf you remember the movie Us, this is the boardwalk in Santa Cruz where some of the scenes take place. Apparently some visitors were so freaked out by the movie that they refuse to visit the boardwalk now because they think it's haunted, haha.Santa CruzSanta CruzSanta CruzWe saw a handful of people fishing, listened to this street performer, and then walked down to take a look at the noisy, smelly sea lions.Santa CruzSanta CruzSanta CruzSanta CruzMontereyAfter we left Santa Cruz, we drove down to Monterey and spent a few hours at the Monterey Bay Aquarium (I'll blog about that soon!). There's a cute shopping area by the aquarium, and on Cannery Row, you'll find statues, flags, and signs dedicated to John Stenbeck. He grew up in Monterey, and most of his novels were written when he was living in the area, like Cannery Row (of course), Of Mice and Men, and East of Eden.MontereyMontereyMontereyBig SurWe ended our road trip at Big Sur and watched the sunset together from a viewpoint, admiring the beauty of our new home. Oh, California, we love you so much already. As always, thanks for reading! xo
