I’m taking a quick break from honeymoon posts to talk about our weekend in Portland. We finally tried “glamping” and it was awesome! Well, it was awesome until the sun went down… That’s when we realized maybe glamping is more of a July or August activity. But, we cuddled for warmth and made it through the night!
The property was super cute, and we were even greeted by three goats. Goats crack me up… I really want one someday! They kept head-butting each other, fighting for our attention.
The tent we stayed in was really nice and heavy duty; I’ve never stayed in something like that before. I loved the way our host had it decorated, too. She even provided food for the head-butting goats!
That night, we had ramen at Marukin Ramen, and then egg waffles and ice cream at Puffle Waffle. Yum! Have you ever eaten an egg waffle? (Or, I guess people call them bubble waffles, too.) They’re popular in Hong Kong but I’ve seen them all over the PNW lately, usually being served from food trucks or small shops in Seattle’s International District. They’re so cute, and delicious, too!
There was an outdoor shower on the property which was fun to try. It was hard getting into in the morning since it was so chilly outside and I was snug as a bug in my extra cozy pajamas, but once I was in, it was hard to get out!
Aside from the cold temps, we really enjoyed our stay and I’m so glad we gave glamping a try. I was thinking over the weekend that I should start linking back to the unique Airbnbs we stay in just in case anyone reading is hoping to stay in the same spot. (I probably should have started doing this forever ago. Oh, well!) If you’re planning a visit to Portland, Oregon and you’re interested in staying at Carolyn’s place for a fun glamping experience, check it out here. As always, thanks for reading! xo

Ahh it’s looks so cute and I love the idea of outdoor baths and showers although the step before hopping in, especially if it is cold seems torturous!

Haha for sure – that was the hardest part!

My kind of glamping is inside a hotel! That said, that tent looks super cosy, it’s just the bathrooming that I would need to get my head around. That said, I am desperate to go to Portland and this would certainly make for an unusual experience. How good is Airbnb?!
Amanda says
Haha, it was great, you’d love it! 🙂 And omg I know, Airbnb rules!

We go camping a fair bit but I can’t quite convince my significant other to try glamping, as much as I try. I think he feels like it’s not “proper” camping because of all the luxury involved… and that’s the entire reason that I want to try it! This looks so gorgeous and romantic! I think I need to just plan a “surprise” road trip and visit. #WanderfulWednesday

Haha yeah my husband feels the same but he actually really enjoyed it!

Oh, this looks really nice. I must say that I’m not the camping type, though whenever I have camped sites like these are just what I was after!

Ooh really interesting this is an Airbnb.. I’ve noticed a lot of glamping ‘communes’ popping up (for lack of a better word lol) and figured this was one of those. It’s soooo cute though and DEFINITELY something I would stay (and instagram the crap out of) if I ever come back to Portland.
amandaaude@gmail.com says
Haha totally – perfect Instagram material 😉

How fun! I’ve never been glamping before but it sounds a lot better than regular camping to me. What a cool spot! I love finding unique air bnbs.
