The four-day Thanksgiving break was so wonderful, wasn’t it? I got to meet some of Adam’s extended family for the first time and they welcomed me with open arms. It was such a fun weekend getting to know everyone! They all left on Saturday, so after some lazy lounging on Sunday morning, Adam and I finally decided to get out of our pajamas and leave our cozy nest to do some adventuring. We went snowshoeing at Skyline Lake near Stevens Pass (one of the big ski resorts here). When the sun makes an appearance in Seattle during the winter months, that means you get your butt outside. It’s been pretty rainy here (obviously) so it was nice feeling the sun again for a few hours.
These cute little birds wouldn’t leave us alone! Adam was referring to them as “Camp Robbers” because they’re known for getting friendly with humans just to snatch up their food. They were coming so close to us, and this one did eventually manage to take off with a bit of my Clif Bar. Lil’ sneak!
The drive home was so pretty. The mountains were beautifully snow-capped, this dense fog started to roll in making the trees look extra dreamy, and then the most stunning sunset welcomed us back to the city. Washington is just too good to be true sometimes. Did you get outside over the break?

I was on Venice beach for Thanksgiving. The universe turned the dial to perfect and what a day it was. Looks like you had fun too with snow shoes and family. Missing you more each time I see your photos.

Wow! I’ve never heard of snowshoeing before, but thanks to you; now, I know!We don’t get snow here in San Diego, but my husband and I are waiting for snow to commence in Mt Jacinto in Palm Springs. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend are going to Big Bear this weekend, which I’m totally jealous of!

Thank you so much for sharing these photos. It’s currently a warm 39 degrees Celsius where I am so seeing snow and those gorgeous saplings makes me feel a bit better. I can’t wait to visit Washington some day.

You must! Even though I love the holidays, I really miss the warm summer weather, so I’m a bit jealous!
